Theater

Every Student Deserves a Stage

Three divisions. Three seasons. Full productions from 4th grade through senior year — because confidence, collaboration, and creativity are best learned in the spotlight.

Theater at RCS is a comprehensive experience: students are immersed in acting and musical theatre as well as design and production — learning what happens both on the stage and behind it.

Our goal is to guide students toward greater self-awareness and self-expression as they discover their God-given talents and artistic capabilities.

And unlike many schools, theater at RCS doesn’t wait for high school. Our students take their first bow in 4th grade — and the productions keep coming, all year long.

A Production in Every Season

Fall — Elementary Theater

(Grades 4–6)

Our youngest performers kick off the theatrical year each fall. Elementary theater introduces students to the fundamentals of performance — memorization, stage presence, teamwork — in a joyful, encouraging environment where every child can shine.

Winter — Middle School Theater

(Grades 7–8)

As the weather turns, our middle schoolers take the stage. Winter productions showcase our 7th and 8th graders as they grow into more demanding roles, larger productions, and greater responsibility on and off stage.

Spring — High School Theater

(Grades 9–12)

The theatrical year culminates each spring with our high school production — a full-scale show featuring our most experienced performers, supported by student designers, technicians, and the pit orchestra. It’s the capstone of the RCS theater pathway, and a highlight of the school year for the entire community.

More Than Acting

RCS theater students experience every dimension of production:

Performance

Acting, musical theatre, vocal and movement work

Design & Production

Sets, costumes, lighting, sound, and stage management

Collaboration

Learning to create something excellent together, where every role matters

Along the way, students in middle school can also take a fall semester drama class — a chance to experience the excitement of performing before a live audience and collaborating on meaningful, high-quality productions.

What Families Can Expect

  • A production every season: fall (elementary), winter (middle school), spring (high school)
  • Performance opportunities beginning in 4th grade
  • Training in acting, musical theatre, and technical production
  • A culture where students cheer for one another — on stage and off

The best way to experience RCS theater is from a seat in the audience.
