Preschool

Preschool at Resurrection Christian School

The preschool years are full of firsts.

First friendships. First classroom. First questions. First steps toward independence. These early years are filled with moments that may seem small, but they are laying the foundation for how your child will learn, grow, and understand the world around them.

As parents, those first school experiences come with meaningful questions:

Will my child feel safe, known, and loved?
Will they begin to understand who God created them to be?
Will they be encouraged to learn, explore, and ask questions?
Will they build the character and confidence they need for the years ahead?

At Resurrection Christian School, we believe a strong education begins with a strong foundation in Christ. From the very beginning, our preschool students are welcomed into a Christ-centered environment where they can discover the joy of learning, build meaningful relationships, develop independence, and begin to see how God’s truth shapes the way they understand themselves and the world around them.

Our teachers come alongside each child with care and intention, nurturing their academic, spiritual, social, and emotional growth while encouraging them to discover the unique gifts and abilities God has given them.

We invite you to explore the preschool experience at RCS and discover how we help little learners build foundations in Christ from the very beginning.

Educational Philosophy

At RCS, we know every child is uniquely created by God.

Instead of expecting every child to learn, grow, and develop in exactly the same way, we meet students where they are and come alongside them with patience, encouragement, and purpose. Through meaningful relationships, intentional learning, and opportunities to explore, we help each child grow in confidence, discover their God-given gifts, and build a strong foundation for the years ahead.

Boldly Christian

Your child’s walk with the Lord will begin to grow through:
  • Teachers who model a love for God and others, helping children experience what it means to live out their faith in everyday moments.
  • A nurturing, Christ-centered environment where each child is known, valued, and recognized as a unique creation of God, with gifts and strengths worth celebrating.
  • Age-appropriate Scripture learning and memorization that introduces children to God’s Word and begins building a strong foundation of truth.
  • Daily opportunities to pray, worship, and talk about God, helping children begin to understand His love and goodness and see Him as part of their everyday lives.

Academically Equipped

Your child will discover the joy of learning through:
  • Hands-on learning and play through centers, activities, and group and individual experiences that encourage children to explore, create, problem-solve, and discover the world God made.
  • Opportunities to discover and develop God-given gifts, with classroom activities and experiences in chapel, worship and music, and art that encourage children to explore their interests and grow in confidence.
  • A love of learning nurtured from the beginning, as caring teachers encourage curiosity, creativity, independence, and a growing excitement about school.
  • A balanced approach to early childhood education that supports each child’s academic, spiritual, social, and emotional development while preparing them for the next step in their educational journey.

Globally Prepared

Your child will begin to discover their place in God’s world through:
  • Learning to love and care for others, developing kindness, generosity, compassion, and integrity through everyday classroom experiences.
  • Exploring other languages and cultures through Spanish class and age-appropriate opportunities to discover how people around the world live, learn, and worship.
  • Learning to “see others” by practicing generosity and participating in opportunities like Operation Christmas Child and other service projects.
  • Developing a heart for children around the world through opportunities such as sponsoring a child through Vision Trust.
  • Discovering God’s heart for all people through Bible stories and Scripture that introduce children to people, places, and cultures from Genesis to Revelation.

Program Distinctives

The preschool years are a time of wonder, discovery, and big first steps.

Children are beginning to discover who they are, how they fit into a classroom community, and how to navigate new experiences with growing independence. They’re learning to make friends, solve problems, express themselves, and explore the world around them. At RCS, we’ve intentionally designed the preschool experience to meet children in this important season—providing a nurturing environment where they feel known and loved, opportunities to explore and grow, and a foundation of faith that begins shaping who they are and how they see the world.

Discovering Gifts

Every child is uniquely created by God, with their own interests, abilities, personality, and way of learning. The preschool years are an important time to explore those differences, try new things, and discover what brings them joy.

At RCS, children are given opportunities to learn and grow through a variety of experiences beyond their everyday classroom:

  • Art, where children explore creativity, imagination, and self-expression
  • Music and worship, where children experience the joy of making music and praising God together
  • Spanish, where children are introduced to a new language and begin developing an appreciation for other cultures
  • Chapel, where children gather together to worship, hear Bible stories, and grow in their understanding of God
  • Hands-on learning and play, where children can build, create, experiment, and develop problem-solving skills
  • Physical activity, where children develop coordination, confidence, teamwork, and healthy habits

Together, these experiences give children room to explore, discover what they enjoy, and begin recognizing the unique gifts God has given them.

Intentional Mentorship

For young children, some of their most meaningful learning happens through relationships. At RCS, our teachers intentionally invest in each child, creating a classroom environment where children feel known, valued, encouraged, and loved.

  • Teachers who know and care for each child, building meaningful relationships that help children feel safe, valued, and encouraged
  • A strong partnership between school and family, working together to support each child’s growth and development
  • Teachers who model Christlike character, showing children what it looks like to love God and love others in everyday moments
  • Intentional opportunities to teach and practice kindness, responsibility, independence, problem-solving, and caring for others
  • A nurturing environment where children are encouraged to try new things, learn from mistakes, and grow at their own pace

Ministry, Service & Spiritual Life

Faith formation at RCS isn’t confined to a Bible lesson or a chapel service. For our youngest students, faith is woven into the everyday moments of their preschool experience.

Through prayer, Scripture, worship, and the example of caring teachers, children begin to discover who God is and what it means to love Him and love others. They are encouraged to ask questions, experience God’s goodness, and see that their faith is part of every part of their lives.

  • Age-appropriate Bible lessons and Scripture memorization that introduce children to God’s Word and His truth
  • Regular chapel experiences where children worship, hear Bible stories, and gather together as a community
  • Daily prayer, giving children opportunities to talk with God and learn to bring their joys, questions, and needs to Him
  • Worship and music, helping children experience the joy of praising God together
  • Teachers who model a life of faith, showing children what it looks like to love God and love others
  • Opportunities to practice kindness, generosity, and service, helping children begin to see how God can use them to bless others

Community & Safety

A Place To Belong

For many students, some of the most meaningful lessons of elementary school are learned through relationships. At RCS, students become part of a community that celebrates together, worships together, serves together, and grows together. Weekly chapel gatherings provide opportunities to pause and focus on what matters most. The annual retreats give students time to create memories that often become some of their favorite parts of Preschool.

Safety Built on Faith, Relationships, and Responsibility

Here, students are surrounded by people who see their work as a ministry. They invest in students’ lives and help teens navigate the opportunities and challenges of Preschool through biblical truth. As students learn to treat one another with respect, integrity, and compassion, they contribute to a community where healthy relationships can flourish.

This Christ-centered culture is reinforced by thoughtful campus safety procedures and security measures that help provide peace of mind for families. Together, strong relationships and a shared commitment to Christian character create an environment at RCS where students can focus on learning and preparing for the future.
