At Resurrection Christian School, we believe one is never more like God than when being creative.
That conviction shapes everything we do in the Fine Arts — because we don’t treat the arts as an extracurricular add-on.
They are a critical element of our curriculum and a core expression of our mission to graduate students who are Boldly Christian, Academically Equipped, and Globally Prepared. Our Fine Arts program spans every grade level and every discipline: vocal music, instrumental music, theater, and visual arts. Students don’t just learn technique — they learn to think critically, collaborate generously, perform with confidence, and channel their talents to glorify God and serve others.

The RCS Fine Arts journey, at a glance:
Elementary School
Kindergarten -5th Grade
Weekly music and art classes give every elementary student a foundation in the arts — plus early performance opportunities through elementary theater (grades 4–6) and our elementary honor choir, Bella Voce.
Middle School
Grade 6-8
Students choose band or choir as a course elective, join middle school theater productions, and continue developing in the visual arts.
High School
Grade 9-12
A full slate of courses in band, choir, theater, and visual arts — with honor ensembles, spring mainstage productions, gallery shows, and opportunities to compete at the district, state, and national levels.
Why Fine Arts at RCS Stand Apart
Real stages. Real audiences.
Our students don’t just perform in the school gym. Bella Voce, our elementary honor choir, travels to larger venues and has performed the national anthem for the Colorado Eagles and the Colorado Rockies. Our theater students mount full productions every fall, winter, and spring. Our artists exhibit their work in two annual art shows.
A pathway from preschool to graduation.
Because RCS serves students from preschool through 12th grade, we can build artists over time — not just for a semester. A kindergartner singing in weekly music class can grow into a Serenata honor choir member, a pit orchestra musician, or a lead in the spring musical.

We pursue artistic excellence not for applause, but because “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things” (Philippians 4:8). Our students learn that their creativity is a reflection of their Creator and a gift to be stewarded well.
Vocal Music
Choral opportunities from kindergarten through 12th grade — including honor and audition ensembles at every level, such as Bella Voce (elementary), Della Vita (7th/8th grade girls), Sottovoce (6th grade girls), Cambiata (6th–8th grade boys), and Serenata (high school) — performing at venues across Colorado.


Instrumental Music
Beginning in 6th grade and continuing through senior year, our band program includes concert band, pep band, and pit orchestra — with performance opportunities all year long.
Theater
Full theatrical productions at every level: elementary in the fall, middle school in the winter, and high school in the spring. The curtain rises early at RCS — starting in 4th grade.


Visual Arts
From a preschooler’s first art class to advanced high school studio courses, our visual arts program culminates in two annual art shows celebrating student work across all grades.
