Elementary School

Elementary School at Resurrection Christian School

Foundations built in Christ – from the very beginning.

Your students’ elementary years are the most formative years in a child’s life. They are learning how to read, write, make friends, problem-solve, and discover the world around them. But most importantly, they are learning how their faith shapes the way that they live, how they see themselves, and how to interact with the world around them.

As parents, the questions during these years are meaningful:

Will my child be known, valued, and encouraged?
Will they grow in their relationship with Christ?
Will they develop the confidence and character they need to navigate the years ahead?
Will they be challenged to discover and use the gifts God has given them?

At Resurrection Christian School, we believe elementary education is about developing the whole child. We come alongside students as they grow academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally—creating a Christ-centered environment where they can ask questions, build meaningful relationships, discover their strengths, and develop a foundation of faith that will carry with them for years to come.

We invite you to explore the elementary experiences that help RCS students grow in knowledge, character, faith, and confidence as they discover who God created them to be.

Educational Philosophy

At RCS, we know every child is uniquely created by God, with their own strengths, interests, personality, and pace of growth.

We partner closely with families to nurture each student’s gifts, encourage their curiosity, and help them grow in faith, character, and confidence.

Boldly Christian

Faith that influences every part of life.

At RCS, faith is not something we simply teach—it is part of the way we learn, worship, and live together each day. Scripture is integrated throughout the curriculum, helping students discover the character of God through Bible stories and connect biblical truth to the world around them. Daily prayer and worship create space for students to grow in their relationship with Him, while teachers who are passionate about following Christ model a life of faith, service, and love. Through these everyday experiences, students begin to understand not only what they believe, but why it matters.

Academically Equipped

Learning that inspires curiosity and builds confidence.

Students are encouraged to pursue excellence as they grow in knowledge, skills, and understanding. Through thoughtful instruction and meaningful opportunities to apply what they learn, students are challenged to think deeply, persevere through challenges, and take ownership of their learning. Beyond the core classroom, students explore their God-given gifts through five enriching specials—Art, STEM, Library, Physical Education, and Music. Teachers recognize each child’s unique strengths and provide the support and challenge they need to grow, laying a strong academic foundation for the years ahead.

Globally Prepared

Discovering who God created them to be and how their gifts can be used to serve others

Elementary school is a formative time when children begin developing the worldview that will shape how they understand themselves, others, and the world around them. At RCS, we believe that strong academics and a biblical foundation belong together. Students are encouraged to ask questions, think critically, explore different perspectives, and discover how God’s truth speaks into every area of life. As they grow in knowledge and understanding, they are also learning to see the world through a biblical lens—recognizing God’s goodness, valuing every person as His creation, and considering how they can faithfully live and serve within His world.

Program Distinctives

The elementary years are a foundational season when children begin developing the knowledge, character, and faith that will guide them as they grow.

The elementary years are a time of discovery and growth. Students are beginning to uncover their interests, recognize their strengths, and discover the unique ways God has created and gifted them. They’re also developing essential skills, growing in their understanding of Scripture, and learning how to approach the world around them with wisdom and wonder. At RCS, we’ve intentionally designed the elementary experience to nurture these formative years, giving children space to explore, grow, and become who God created them to be.

Academic Pathways

Every child is uniquely created by God, with different interests, abilities, and ways of learning. Elementary school is an important time to explore those differences and give students opportunities to discover what they enjoy and where they excel.

At RCS, students experience a broad range of learning opportunities that extend beyond the core classroom:

  • Art, where students develop creativity and learn to express ideas in new ways
  • STEM, where students explore, build, experiment, and solve problems
  • Library, where students develop a love of reading and discover new ideas and perspectives
  • Physical Education, where students develop coordination, teamwork, and healthy habits
  • Music, where students experience creativity, expression, and the joy of making music together

Together, these experiences give students room to try new things, develop new skills, and begin recognizing the gifts and interests that make them uniquely who God created them to be.

Exciting Extracurriculars

Some of the most memorable moments of elentary school happen outside the classroom. Extracurricular involvement helps RCS students discover their skills and develop lifelong friendships.

A Place To Belong

For many students, some of the most meaningful lessons of elementary school are learned through relationships. At RCS, students become part of a community that celebrates together, worships together, serves together, and grows together. Weekly chapel gatherings provide opportunities to pause and focus on what matters most. The annual retreats give students time to create memories that often become some of their favorite parts of Elementary school.

Safety Built on Faith, Relationships, and Responsibility

Here, students are surrounded by people who see their work as a ministry. They invest in students’ lives and help teens navigate the opportunities and challenges of elementary school through biblical truth. As students learn to treat one another with respect, integrity, and compassion, they contribute to a community where healthy relationships can flourish.

This Christ-centered culture is reinforced by thoughtful campus safety procedures and security measures that help provide peace of mind for families. Together, strong relationships and a shared commitment to Christian character create an environment at RCS where students can focus on learning and preparing for the future.
