RCS Key Club Serves at Loveland Community Kitchen

On January 20th, a biting cold evening, when the Colorado winter showed no mercy, the Resurrection Christian School Key Club brought warmth—not just in the form of meals, but through their heartfelt service at the Loveland Community Kitchen. Braving frigid temperatures, these high school students stepped up to help those in need, exemplifying their mission to serve their community with kindness and humility.

The team arrived early, ready to lend their hands to the bustling kitchen. From serving meals to greeting guests with friendly smiles, the students embraced every task with enthusiasm. The atmosphere was one of camaraderie and care, offering a comforting reprieve to community members seeking refuge from the cold.

Key Club Vice President Evan Simmons reflected on the experience, sharing that it is not just about the food we served but also about letting people know they’re not alone, but rather loved. The sentiment was echoed by fellow club members, who expressed how meaningful it was to connect with the guests through simple conversations and shared humanity.

The Loveland Community Kitchen, a cornerstone of local outreach, regularly provides meals to those experiencing food insecurity. For the Key Club students, the evening served as a powerful reminder of the importance of compassion and the impact of small acts of service.

As temperatures continued to drop outside, the warmth generated within the walls of the kitchen proved that even on the coldest nights, love and generosity can shine brightly. For the Key Club, this experience was more than just a volunteer opportunity—it was a call to be the hands and feet of Christ in their community.
