If you haven’t heard about Galaxy Cookies, you’re missing out. Since then, her fundraising efforts have exploded, and she has raised nearly $42,000 and counting. Small Beginnings

In 2nd grade, Daniela used to spend her recess indoors with a classmate who was suffering from cancer. It was here that she came up with the idea to start baking for Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. After a few successful bake sales, she met with the founder of Cookies for Kid’s Cancer, who challenged her to raise enough money to fund a grant — $100,000 — by the time she graduates in the Spring of 2026. Now, every September, Daniela hosts a bake sale to continue raising money for pediatric cancer research in hopes of reaching her goal.

Exceeding Expectations

With a goal of raising $18,000 at this year’s bake sale in September, Daniela blew past that, hitting nearly $23.5k so far. Donations are accepted year-round and often matched by local businesses supporting her cause and the mission of Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. With three more annual bake sales to go before her graduation, Daniela is on the right track to hit and possibly surpass the challenge set for her by the organization’s founder, Gretchen Holt Witt.

Recipient of a Youth Impact Award

On October 17th, 2022, Daniela was honored by The Colorado Association for Gifted and Talented with a Youth Impact Award for her fundraising efforts. At RCS, we couldn’t be more proud of the way she represents our community and serves others through her baking. Daniela and her mother are an amazing example of how Christ calls us to serve, let our light shine before men, and love others.
