Making the Most of Summer Break – Learning That Lasts

Summer is a time for rest and recharge, but that doesn’t mean learning has to stop. In fact, some of the best learning happens when students have the freedom to explore their interests outside of the classroom.

At Resurrection Christian School, we believe in nurturing a love of learning that extends beyond the school year. Here are a few simple ways families can keep minds engaged this summer:

  • Start a Summer Reading Challenge. Encourage kids to read 15–30 minutes a day. Visit your local library, pick up faith-based books, or dive into a Christian biography together as a family.

  • Explore STEM at home. Build a backyard volcano, launch a paper rocket, or try a coding game. Hands-on fun builds critical thinking skills.

  • Serve together. Use the extra time to model servant leadership. Volunteer at a local shelter or help a neighbor in need.

As you think about the future, now is also the perfect time to plan for the 2025–26 school year. At RCS, our mission is to develop globally prepared, missionally focused students who lead with character and Christ-centered purpose.
