From Loveland to the Nations: The Power of RCS Mission Trips
When students at Resurrection Christian School participate in mission trips, they’re not just checking off a graduation requirement—they’re stepping into a larger story. These experiences serve as powerful milestones in a student’s faith journey, often igniting a passion for service, strengthening their relationship with Christ, and expanding their understanding of the world.
Each year, high school students have the opportunity to participate in carefully planned mission trips—both within the U.S. and internationally. These trips are designed not only to meet practical needs, but also to share the hope of the gospel in word and action. Whether they’re rebuilding homes, feeding the hungry, hosting VBS-style outreach, or simply listening to someone’s story, our students learn that true mission work is relational, not transactional.
But before they ever pack a bag or board a plane, RCS students are equipped with intentional spiritual preparation. We train them to understand cultural differences, how to communicate effectively and respectfully, and how to be flexible and faithful even when things don’t go as planned. They’re challenged to lead devotionals, serve without recognition, and trust God in unfamiliar territory.
What’s remarkable is how often these trips leave a permanent mark. Students return with a renewed sense of purpose and a clearer picture of how God is working across the globe. Many begin to see their future careers—whether in medicine, education, business, or ministry—as mission fields. They realize that they don’t have to wait until adulthood or become a full-time missionary to live missionally. They can start now—at their school, in their homes, and in their neighborhoods.
These mission experiences also build confidence, resilience, and leadership. Students must work as a team, adapt to new environments, and rely on prayer and the Holy Spirit to guide them. They learn what it means to serve when no one’s watching, to find joy in sacrifice, and to represent Christ with humility and love.
At RCS, we believe every student is called to be part of the Great Commission. Our mission trips aren’t a side program—they’re a vital part of shaping students into globally prepared, missionally focused followers of Jesus.
