Celebrating Our Daniels Fund Scholars: Isaac Flores, Evan Van Pelt, and Beth Kondratieff

At Resurrection Christian School, we are proud to announce that three outstanding seniors from the Class of 2025 have been selected as Daniels Fund Scholars: Isaac Flores, Evan Van Pelt, and Beth Kondratieff. This highly competitive scholarship is awarded to students who exemplify strength of character, leadership potential, a commitment to serving others, academic promise, and financial need.

The Daniels Fund Scholarship Program, created by cable pioneer and philanthropist Bill Daniels, is more than a financial award — it’s a life-changing opportunity to join a network of driven, service-minded leaders who share a heart for integrity and excellence. We asked our scholars to reflect on their journey and share encouragement for future applicants.

Beth Kondratieff — Headed to Baylor University

Beth was inspired to apply for the Daniels Fund Scholarship after seeing how it positively impacted her older brother. “Through his experience, I was able to see all the doors that had been opened for him and the type of supportive family he was welcomed into,” she shared. “Bill Daniels held many of the same beliefs and values that I strive to prioritize in my own life.”

Though the multi-step application process — including essays and an in-person interview — was nerve-wracking, Beth found it incredibly rewarding. “There was a lot of anticipation after completing every round, but it was so exciting to progress until the end!”

Beth will attend Baylor University this fall and plans to major in biology, pursuing a future in the medical field. Her goals reflect both ambition and deep faith: “I hope to get involved in a Christ-like community throughout college and serve others wherever God leads me. I want to give it all back to Him by living a life of worship.”

To future RCS applicants, Beth offers this wisdom: “Go into it with humility and open hands. It’s not about what’s on a resume — it’s about the posture of your heart when no one is looking. Be a servant-hearted leader, even in the private areas of your life.”

Evan Van Pelt — Headed to Grand Canyon University

For Evan, applying to the Daniels Fund was a strategic decision: “I qualified and thought that I had a good chance of winning.” He found the process rigorous yet clear, with each phase — from written essays to the final formal interview — sharpening his focus and commitment.

Evan will attend Grand Canyon University, also majoring in biology (pre-med), with the goal of becoming a doctor. His advice is straightforward and encouraging: “If you qualify, then you should definitely 100% do it — it’s a great opportunity.”

Isaac Flores — Daniels Scholar

Although we haven’t yet received Isaac’s responses, we are incredibly proud of his achievement. Isaac has demonstrated the leadership, character, and determination that the Daniels Fund seeks to honor, and we look forward to seeing where his journey will take him in college and beyond.

Congratulations to Beth, Evan, and Isaac! Your RCS family celebrates with you and will be cheering you on as you take the next step in your education. May you continue to grow in character, serve others boldly, and glorify God in all you do.
