Called to Go: How RCS Fosters Missional Living from a Young Age
At Resurrection Christian School, we believe that preparing students to live missionally doesn’t begin in high school—it starts in the earliest grades. Our mission is to partner with families in raising students who are not only academically strong and spiritually grounded but also passionate about serving others and spreading the love of Christ in their communities and beyond.
From elementary school onward, students at RCS are introduced to the idea that faith is meant to be lived out. It’s not confined to chapel services or Bible class—it’s demonstrated through action. One of the most impactful ways we help students connect their faith with service is through intentional, age-appropriate outreach experiences. These aren’t just check-the-box volunteer days. These are formative opportunities that help students see themselves as active participants in God’s Kingdom.
For example, our elementary students recently served at Serve 6.8, a Loveland-based ministry that supports local families in crisis. These hands-on opportunities help young children grasp the joy of giving, the needs in their own community, and the idea that even small acts of kindness can have eternal significance. As they grow, these students build on that foundation through middle school serve days and deeper engagement in local partnerships like International Medical Relief, where they learn the importance of humility, compassion, and servant leadership.
We also incorporate mission-focused curriculum and prayer throughout all grade levels. During weekly chapels, students hear from guest speakers and missionaries, learn about global needs, and pray together for the nations. In the classroom, projects and discussions often center around how to make a difference for Christ, whether across the street or around the world.
Living missionally isn’t just about going on a trip—it’s about a mindset. It’s about viewing every day as an opportunity to serve someone else, to represent Christ with integrity, and to use your gifts for a higher purpose. That’s what we strive to instill in every student at RCS.
The result? Students who graduate with a deep love for others, a strong sense of purpose, and the courage to live their faith boldly—wherever they go.
