As summer winds down and school supplies begin to fill shopping carts, it’s easy to focus on the external checklist—backpacks, shoes, lunchboxes. But one of the most important ways we can prepare our children for the new school year is by focusing on the heart.

At Resurrection Christian School, we believe that a strong academic foundation begins with a strong spiritual foundation. As you prepare for a new year, consider these simple ways to spiritually ready your child:

• Pray together daily. Cover your student in prayer as they step into a new grade, new relationships, and new opportunities. Pray for wisdom, courage, and a Christlike heart.

• Set spiritual goals. Whether it’s memorizing a verse each week, journaling during devotional time, or starting a family worship rhythm—small habits create lasting growth.

• Speak life. Use affirming, faith-filled words to remind your child of their identity in Christ and their calling to be a light wherever they go.
