Volleyball keeps streak alive
Resurrection Christian kept its winning streak intact, moving to 12-0 on the season to mark 70 consecutive victories (the third longest streak in Colorado history) with a 25-18, 25-12, 22-25, 25-13 win Thursday night over Heritage Christian on a night that coach Caleb Howard said his team was reminded it had to play all the way through. When they did, he was impressed.
“The three sets we won, I thought we played really well,” Howard said. “Heritage Christian didn’t make a lot of mistakes and made us put the ball away, and we had a lot of good swings.”
The Cougars also had balance, which Howard said is key. Right-side hitter Kyra Zuhlke led with 11 kills, while outside hitter Abby Skipworth notched 10. Middles Maddy Janzen (10) and Jessica Meyer (7) made their presence felt as setter Saylor Webb had 41 assists. Libero Maddi McDaniel had 14 digs and three aces.
